I fucking hate explaining myself, and so do you.
I think on average every single person on this world spends too much time trying to figure out how to frame the work they do instead of actually doing it.
It’s not even for optics reasons or politics: engineers are so deep in their rabbitholes its impossible to explain to someone else who hasn’t spent the time doing it, sales people are used to their way of “doing things”, managers don’t want to reexplain every single little thing they say in every meeting.
The point is we’re all fucking lazy. Work we do should speak for itself, why re-explain what you did when Pencil can do it for you?
I don’t believe in Slacking people for hours, having standup meetings or reading emails when the future doesn’t even seem bright for Google search.
Let’s be real, we need a shift in how we communicate — ask Pencil what John did yesterday, ask Pencil how to best word what you did today, ask Pencil to explain exactly how you came to that conclusion.
And agents are the future — how are they going to pick up the work you were doing? Ask Pencil for your context, ask Pencil for your progress.
And LLMs — we literally don’t use Google search anymore, people just ask ChatGPT or some other large language model. Without sending your chat to someone, how do you explain exactly what you know?
TLDR for you lazy people: Work that speaks for itself. Never explain yourself again. Context managed as you work for yourself and your team.
