Currently @ Shopify as a Software Engineering Intern working on the Product Grouping team. Did you know that bundles increase the average cart value by 50%? Product grouping is an essential part of selling strategies that Shop employs to maximize shareholder value 😀.

Some interesting things I’ve been working on:

  1. Combined listing sync job. Products can have up to 2000 variants, and combined listings work by listing a product as a variant. This means that you can actually have, 2000 x 2000 different variants total. How do you sync all the media, pricing and inventory data?
  2. Fixing exceptions with over 100k+ events with dynamic GraphQL version checking, focusing on making the merchant experience seamless. 🙏
  3. Product configuration URL regex validation. How do you verify that a URL passed in is valid? This is prevent bundles apps from containing malformed URLs for merchants that choose to create their own custom experience by making a Shopify 3p app.
